Cinnamon Rolls

Ingredients

  • 12 cup Flour
  • 4 tbsp Yeast
  • 1½ cup Powdered Milk (dry)
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 4 tsp Salt
  • 4 Eggs
  • 4½ cup Hot Water
  • 1 cup Melted Shortening
  • For filling: 1 cup Sugar
  • For filling: 1 tbsp Cinnamon
  • For frosting: 1/3 cup Butter
  • For frosting: 3 cup Powdered Sugar
  • For frosting: 1½ tsp Vanilla
  • For frosting: 2 tbsp Milk (approx)

Instructions

  1. 1 Stir salt, sugar, shortening, water, 6 cup Flour, eggs & yeast into a batter. Let rest 20 minutes.
  2. 2 Add 6 cup flour, 1 cup at a time and knead into a soft dough. Let rise double.
  3. 3 Divide in half and roll out into a square. Brush with melted margarine.
  4. 4 Mix 1 cup sugar & 1 tbsp cinnamon and spread 1/2 the mixture on dough (may also add raisins or nuts if desired).
  5. 5 Roll up and cut rolls with dental floss 1/2" thick. Repeat with second half of dough.
  6. 6 Put rolls on greased cookie sheets and let rise until double.
  7. 7 Bake at 350°F for 20 min. Frost while hot.
  8. 8 Frosting: Mix butter, powdered sugar, vanilla and milk until spreadable. Frost rolls.
