Chocolate-Walnut Brownies

Ingredients

  • 1 stick Butter, softened to room temperature
  • 1 cup Splenda sugar substitute
  • 1/3 cup packed Brown Sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp Cream or Half & Half
  • 3/4 cup Almond Flour
  • 1/4 cup Whole Wheat Flour
  • 1 tsp Xanthum gum
  • pinch Salt
  • 1 tsp Baking Soda
  • 3 oz Unsweetened baking chocolate, melted
  • 1/4 cup Chopped Nuts, any variety

Instructions

  1. 1 Preheat oven to 350°F and grease an 8" x 8" baking pan.
  2. 2 In a mixing bowl cream butter and sugars.
  3. 3 Add and mix well the eggs, vanilla, and cream.
  4. 4 In a separate bowl mix together dry ingredients (almond flour, whole wheat flour, xanthum gum, salt, baking soda).
  5. 5 Add dry ingredients into creamed mixture.
  6. 6 Alternately stir in melted chocolate.
  7. 7 Stir in chopped nuts.
  8. 8 Spread batter into prepared pan (batter is very stiff).
  9. 9 Bake in a 350°F oven for about 15 minutes or until a knife inserted comes out clean.
  10. 10 Cool completely, then cut into 16 1-inch squares.

Notes

Each portion contains about 5 grams of carbohydrates. Batter is very stiff.
