Coleen's Coconut Pecan Frosting for German Cake

Favorite Desserts

Ingredients

  • 1/2 Cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 Cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 Cup butter
  • 3 large egg yolks
  • 3/4 Cup evaporated milk (12 oz can)
  • 1 TBLSP Vanilla
  • 1 Cup chopped pecans
  • 1 Cup sweetened shredded coconut

Instructions

  1. 1 Add sugars, butter and egg yolks, and evaporated milk to a pan. Mix thoroughly before heating to a boil (so eggs don't "scramble"). Stir constantly.
  2. 2 Remove from heat. Add vanilla chopped pecans and shredded coconut.
  3. 3 Pour over slightly cooled german chocolate cake.
